Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe, known in the 21st century as "Duke Stew", dates to 1917 and the Russian Revolution. The Bolsheviks used the stew to rouse the starving rebel troops..... much as Chief Duke did during the first decade of the 21 century at several "C" Shift Christmas gathering. The recipe was discovered by my great grandmother in 1919 during a Google search for "bowling sticks", which early versions of Google interpreted as Bolsheviks. Enjoy!
