"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb frozen bread dough
Wesson oil (or frying substance of your choice)

Directions:
Directions:
Place bread dough and 1/4 cup oil in ziploc plastic bag. Be sure that dough is completel) coated with oil.
Place bag in baking dish one let the dough thaw and rest for at least 5 tc 6 hours or overnight. I also place a towel over the bag of dough to keep it warm. If not, substitute home made dough it will rise faster than frozen dough.

After dough is very soft (it will not rise very high because of the oil) it is placed or a cutting liroard and flattened to a thickness of approxinlately 1/4 inch.
Dough is then cut into 1 inch pieces.
Heat oil (approx. 1/2 inch deep) in frying pan or deep fryer.
Place cut dough in hot oil and turn when browned on bottom.
Dough cooks quite fast and should be partially hollow when completely cooked.
(If your dough does not rise while frying, it could be caused by not letting the dough rest long enough or that the dough was frozen for too long)

Top gallettes with jam, jellies, butter, peanut butter, banana slices, or the classic: sprinkled with sugar.
