1 1/2 c. small pasta shells
1 lb. lean ground meat (beef, turkey, chicken)
1 c. sliced, fresh mushroom, divided
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
4 tsp. grated Parmesan cheese, divided

Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large, nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, cook the ground meat, 1/2 c. mushrooms, onions, and green peppers until the meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

Drain pasta; place in an 8 in. square baking dish coated with cooking spray. Top with meat sauce and remaining mushrooms. Sprinkle with 1/4 c. mozzarella cheese and 2 tsp. Parmesan cheese.

Cover and bake at 350º for 35 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining cheeses. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

This is another recipe from the Linda/Sean Lakehouse cooking weekend! We doubled this so we could each take one home. It froze well...just placed the cheeses in a ziploc and placed it on top of the casserole, covered it with foil and placed in the freezer. If I remember correctly, Mom said that Dad really liked this one! I know my little family did!
