2 qt. water
1 qt. vinegar
3 c. sugar (I use about 2 c.)
1/2 c. canning salt
pickling spices
cucumbers, cut into 1/2 in. chunks
onion
fresh or canned garlic
green pepper
Dutch red, yellow, orange peppers
sliced jalapeņo peppers
chili peppers
dill

Pack cucumbers, onion, garlic, peppers, and dill into jars or ice cream bucket.
For refrigerator recipe: Mix together brine ingredients and bring to a good boil with pickling spices in tea bell or cheese cloth. (Double amount of brine for ice cream bucket.) Pour hot brine over cucumbers. Leave bell in. Let set on cupboard overnight. Put in refrigerator the following day. Will keep in the refrigerator for 6 months.
For canned recipe: Heat brine; heat lids. Pour hot over pickles. Put on lids, set rings. I have very little trouble with them not sealing.
