2 - 8 oz. pkg pitted dates, 1 1/2C shredded coconut, 1/2 C butter, 1/2 C water, 1/4 C honey, 2 1/2 C regular oats - uncooked, 2/3 C chopped nuts, 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Combine first six ingredient in a large heavy sauce pan, cook over Med. heat until it reaches a boil. Stir and reduce heat. Cook 3 - 4 minutes cookin dates until well blended, remove from heat. Stir in oats, nuts & vanilla. Put in 9" sq. pan lined with waxed paper. Chill 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Cut into 18 bars. Store in air tight container in refrigerator.
