1 1/2 cups boiling water

1 cup minute oatmeal

1 stick butter

2 cups of flour (exactly)

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp allspice

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup of brown sugar

1 cup of white sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal. Put aside while mixing up the other ingredients.

Mix sugars, butter and eggs together, plus vanilla, blend together well.

Take flour, cinnamon, soda, allspice and salt - mix up and add to wet ingredients.

Add corn starch to the mix.

Place in a 9" x 13" pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes at 350º

While in the oven put together the topping and let sit.

Blend together:

1 stick of butter

1 cup of brown sugar

1/2 cup of whipping cream or heavy cream ( can use half and half or evaporated milk)

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup of chopped pecans

1 cup of coconut

Melt the butter in a glass bowl or large measuring cup. Add brown sugar and cream. Mix well. Add vanilla, nuts and coconut.

Let it sit until cake comes out of the oven. Spread evenly onto the hot cake. Turn oven up to broil.

Once broiler temperature is in place, put cake back into the oven. Broil until topping bubbles and starts to turn an even brown. Remove and let sit.

Cut when cool. VERY rich!
