1 tbsp. alum
1 gal water
cucumbers
1/2 cup salt
1 c. vinegar
3 c. water
grape leaves
green grapes ( unripe grapes) cut open

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cucumbers 2-3 hrs. in alum and gal. of water. Drain cucumbers and place cucumbers in qt. jars with 3 grape leaves and about 12 grapes.(Split the grape mixture put half in bottom of jar and the rest on top of the cucumbers). Boil salt, vinegar and water and pour mixture into jars over cucumbers and grapes.
Process in cold water bath until cucumbers change color about 20 min.
