1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 level tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 egg
1 rounded Tbs. lard
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix water & soda, pour over dates. Let stand till you mix the remaining ingredients together. Add dates & bake.

Amy and I found this recipe in Dorothy's recipe box. It did not say a temperature or how long to bake so good luck! I know she made date pudding.
