1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
2 sticks softened butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped raisins or dried cranberries
3 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda and powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Slowly add in the flour mixture. Stir in the oats and raisins. You can also add chocolate chips. Roll dough into generous 1 1/2 inch balls and place about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Flatten the balls into 1/2 inch thick rounds. Bake 12-14 minutes on 350º. Let cool on wire racks.
