1 package chocolate cake mix
1 regular-size package chocolate instant pudding mix
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
1 cup evaporated milk, divided
1 package (14 ounces) caramels
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped, toasted pecans

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325º.

2. In bowl, combine cake mix, dry pudding mix, butter, and 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Press 1/2 of mixture into 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake for 12 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, in saucepan, melt caramels and remaining evaporated milk, stirring constantly. Spread caramel mixture over baked layer. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Drop the remaining cake batter in teaspoonfuls over the brownies and bake an additional 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is set.
