1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
Jelly, in flavor of your choice

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla, then stir in flour. Cover and chill dough.

2. Form into small balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. With thumb, make indentation in center of each. Fill with jelly.

3. Bake in preheated 375º oven for about 15 minutes, until edges are just beginning to brown. Remove and cool on wire racks.
