1 ¾ cups sifted flour
1 tsp soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup shortening
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar, packed
1 unbeaten egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
Chocolate kiss candies

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, peanut butter, and sugars. Add 1 egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together dry ingredients and add gradually to the creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly. Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 for 10 – 12 minutes. Remove from oven and place a chocolate kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so the cookie cracks around the edge. Allow to cool completely and chocolate to set.
Makes about 3 dozen.
