3 cups White Sugar or 2 cups Brown Sugar
1 cup Margarine (softened)
2 Tbs. Baking Soda
4 cups flour
2 cups boiling water
2 cups natural bran
4 cups bran flakes
1 quart buttermilk
4 eggs
1½ cups raisins


Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over natural bran and let stand while creaming (with an electric mixer) sugar, margarine and eggs.

With a spatula scrape bran mixture into egg mixture and stir. Add buttermilk alternately with flour and soda. Fold in bran flakes and then raisins.

Let stand several hours or overnight in fridge before baking.

Bake at 425 for 20 minutes.
