1 broiler/fryer chicken cut up (about 2-3 lbs)

1 lb raw, shelled, deveined shrimp

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1 tsp dried basil leaves

1/2 cup flour

1 can tomato sauce (8oz)

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

3/4 cup Burgundy wine

3 tbsp parsley, chopped

2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

1 large finely chopped onion

Wash chicken parts thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels.

Combine salt, pepper and flour in a small dish and coat each piece of chicken thoroughly.

Melt butter in a frying pan and brown the chicken by conventional methods.

Transfer butter drippings to a medium baking dish and add onion until tender.

Add wine, Italian seasoning, tomato sauce, chopped parsley and basil to onion mixture. Stir.

Add chicken pieces, cover, and heat on POWER LEVEL 7 for 10 to 14 minutes until chicken is tender.

Remove chicken pieces and place on platter.

Add shrimp to wine sauce and heat, uncovered, on HIGH for 2 to 3 minutes until sauce bubbles and shrimp turn pink. Be careful not to overcook.

Skim excess fat from surface of sauce and pour over chicken pieces.

Serve.
