4 T shortening
6 T sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1 c. flour
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Cake Topping: Mix all dry ingredients and cut shortening into mixture. Beat egg and add to milk and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients.

Pour a no. 2 can of cherries into baking dish. Add 4 T of butter, 2 cups sugar, 4 T of tapioca, few drops of red coloring. Pour cake batter over top and bake.
