3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
one egg
2/3 c. molasses
2 pkg mincemeat
1 c. cold coffee
1 tsp soda dissolved in coffee
2 rounded cups flour
one raw apple, raisins, pecans may be added

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add egg and molasses. Stir thoroughly add mincemeat. Beat well add coffee with soda. Thicken with flour.
Bake one hour 300º
Usually takes 1 hour & 20 minutes.

Probably a favorite of Grandpa Miller. He loved molasses. When the family moved from Louisiana, his relatives sent black strap molasses by the case. I've heard Aunt Sister say the he would even eat molasses on scrambled eggs.
