1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 tbsp. soft shortening
3 ½ tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
¾ c. milk
1 c. finely chopped dried apricots
¾ c. orange juice
4 tsp. orange zest
¾ c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
1.Grease loaf pan
2.Mix thoroughly sugar, shortening, and egg
3.Stir in milk, orange juice and zest
4.Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt add to mixture
5.Blend in apricots and nuts
6.Pour into prepared pan. Let stand for 20 mins.
7.Heat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 70 mins.
