1 lb. ground beef, browned
2 cups diced carrots
2 cups diced potatoes
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 tsp basil
2 bay leaves
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
8 cups hot water
1 small onion, diced

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat and onion. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer until vegetables are cooked. Elbow macaroni may be substituted for potatoes and other veg. can be added.
I add a little sweet basil, Italian seasoning and some season- all- salt. until the soup tastes just right.
