1 cup butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
2 egg whites, slightly beaten
1 cup or more finely chopped walnuts
strawberry preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat butter, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour until combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll into 1 inch balls. Dip balls in egg whites, and then roll in nuts. Place on cookie sheet. Press thumb into center of cookie. Bake for 5 minutes and print (with thumb) again. Bake another 5-7 minutes until golden brown. When cool, fill with preserves.
