4 c. grated raw sweet potatoes
1 c. dark syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. condensed milk
1/2 c. butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 T. allspice mixed with cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Grate potatoes or put small slices in blender. Heat butter in heavy iron skillet in oven. Mix all ingredients, adding the beaten eggs last. Pour mixture into hot butter & stir.
Bake in oven (in skillet) at 350º/ As a crust forms in bottom and around edges, stir. Do this several times while baking for 40 minutes. May be served with sweet flavored cream or lemon sauce. The crunchy crust has a flavor similar to candied coconut.
