1 bunch fresh broccoli or 2 (10 oz) pkgs frozen spears or florets
1 large head cauliflower or 2 (10 oz) pkgs frozen cauliflower
6 carrots, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 medium onion, minced
1/2 cup flour
4 cups milk
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups buttered bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Combine vegetables in large saucepan, cook 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt butter in another pan and saute onion till soft. Add flour and cook over low heat until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Stir in milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute.

Drain vegetables and arrange in 9x13 pan. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over vegetables. Pour white sauce over cheese. Top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350º until nicely browned, about 45 minutes.

I have used frozen mixed vegetables and it works just fine, but you need to cook the vegetables a little first.
