8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. margarine
2 tsp. vanilla
3 to 4 c. sifted confectioner’s sugar

Directions:

Beat together cream cheese, margarine and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually add sifted sugar (I use an electric mixer to beat until smooth). Keep in refrigerator overnight. When ready to frost cake, set icing out for about 1/2 hour. Top first layer with frosting; then with chopped nuts, if desired. I also sprinkle chopped nuts on top layer.
