1-1/2 cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/3 cup sour cream
3/4 cup light brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 ripe bananas, mashed


Frosting:
3 Tbsp unsalted butter
3 Tbsp light brown sugar
2 Tbsp sour cream
3/4 cup powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 325º F. Grease 8x8 pan. Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl and add butter, sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat well until smooth. Stir in bananas. Spoon mixture into pan and smooth. Bake for one hour (until risen and golden brown). Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then let finish cooling on a wire rack. For the frosting, put the butter and brown sugar into a pan and simmer gently, stirring for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and beat in the sour cream and powdered sugar. Let cool for 30 - 40 minutes until it's thick enough to hold it's shape. Spread frosting over the top of cake swirling with a knife.
