1 c Blue Bonnet margarine
2/3 c brown sugar
2/3 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 tsp water
2 eggs
2 c flour
1 tsp salt (or less -- 1/2 tsp)
1 c chocolate chips
1 c oatmeal
nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and eggs until light & fluffy. Mix together flour, soda/ water mixture & salt. Blend into mixture. Stir in chips & oatmeal. Drop from tsp -- or roll in balls. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes.
