For cake:
2 sticks margarine
4 T. cocoa
1 c.water
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
˝ tsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
˝ c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

For frosting:
1 stick margarine
4 T. cocoa
6 T. buttermilk
1 box of powdered sugar
1 T vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
For the cake: Put margarine, cocoa and water into a small saucepan, and bring to a boil. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt. Pour the melted mixture over the ingredients in the bowl. Then mix the following ingredients in a separate bowl: eggs, milk, baking soda and 1 tsp. vanilla; add this to the rest of the mixture. Pour into a greased 11” x 17” pan. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.

For frosting: Melt together margarine, cocoa and buttermilk, and bring to a boil. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread warm frosting on cake 5 minutes before cake is done. Optional: Sprinkle nuts over top.
