1/2 c. margarine
2 c. sugar

Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Melt margarine in a 13x9x2 inch baking pan or sheet cake pan. In a saucepan heat sugar and water until sugar melts. Cut shortening into flour until particles are fine crumbs. Add milk & stir with a fork until dough leaves sides of bowl. Turn out onto lightly-floured board and knead until just smooth. Roll dough out into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples and then spread apples evenly over dough. Roll up dough like a jelly-roll. Dampen the edge of dough with a little water and seal. Slice dough into about 16 slices 1/2 inch thick. Place in pan with margarine. Pour sugar syrup around the rolls. The crust will absorb water. Bake 1 hour.
