Ingredients:
6 - 10 new potatoes cut in cubes
2 c. fresh or canned peas
1 can evaporated milk
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Bring 2 quarts water to a boil. Add cubed new potatoes and peas (if they are fresh peas.) Boil about 8 - 10 minutes until cooked. If using canned peas - add after the potatoes are cooked. When cooked, add 1 can of evaporated milk, butter or margarine and salt and pepper to taste. Turn down the heat and let the canned peas and evaporated milk get warm. This soup tastes much better warm than really hot.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe comes from my mother and her mother before her. Every year when we get those fresh new potatoes from the garden, our first thing to make is Pea and Potato Soup. (tip - if you do not have fresh peas, canned peas work just as well and taste as good.)
