4 cups flour, 2 T. sugar, 1 lb. butter softened, 1 pint vanilla ice cream, preserves.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and sugar. Add butter and mix like pie crust. Stir in ice cream, softened. Make into a ball and chill in refrigerator overnight in wax paper. Chill preserves. Roll flour mixture into a square, 1/4 inch thick. Spread on preserves. Bake 1 minute in a 350º oven.

A Slovenian cookie, Kolaski, uses a similar recipe, substituting cream cheese for the ice cream, and topping the flour mixture and preserves with another piece of the base mixture.
