1 c. shortening (I usually use the butter flavored kind)
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs

*Beat until light & fluffy.

Then add:
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T. hot water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together then add 1 pkg. chocolate chips.

Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.

This is my friend Carrie's recipe that was past onto me from my friend Lara. Lara made them with 1/2 chocolate chips, 1/2 butterscotch chips and that is by far my favorite combo of "chips" for this recipe.
