8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 c butter or margarine
2 tsp vanilla
5 3/4 to 6 1/4 sifted powdered sugar

Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla with mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add 2 cups powdered sugar, beating well. Gradually beat in additional powdered sugar to reach spreading consistency.

Use half of this recipe to frost a 9x13 cake or a batch of cupcakes.

You can also add 1/4 tsp cinnamon to a half batch of frosting. (Would be really good on Lynn's carrot cake recipe!!)
