Ingredients: 3 Slices white or whole wheat bread cheddar filling (recipe follows) 1 jar (7oz) small pimiento-stuffed olives, well drained swiss filling. 10 thin asparagus spears, cooked drained. 14 oz cream cheese, softened 1/3 cup mayonnaise

Directions:remove crust from bread. place 1 slice of bread on serving platter, board or foil-covered cardboard. spread with 1 cup of cheddar filling. Arrange olives in rows to cover entire surface of filling. Carefully spread with remaining cheddar filling. Top cheddar filling layer with another slice of bread. Spread with 1 cup of swiss filling. pat asparagus spears dry with paper towels. Arrange asparagus spears in rows to cover entire surface of filling. Spread remaining swiss filling evenly over asparagus. Top swiss filling layer with remaining slice of bread. Press layers firmly together cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate several hours or until very firm. In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat together cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. spread top and sides evenly with cream cheese mixture. garnish as desired. |
