1 (24oz) pkg. frozen hash browns - thawed
3/4 c.margarine
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 can cream of chicken soup - undiluted
1 - 8oz. carton sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups cornflakes or 2 cups cheese-it crushed

Directions:
Directions:
Combine potatoes, 1/2 cup margarine, onion, soup, sour cream and cheese. Stir well.
Spoon into greased 2 1/2 qt/ casserole.
Crush corn flakes or cheese its. Stir remaining margarine and sprinkle over potato mixture half way through cooking. Bake at 350º for 50 minutes. Check at 40 minutes. I use 13x9x2 pyrex dish.

Don't use both corn flakes and cheese its. I tried cheese its one time and really liked it.
