3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 Tbsp. salt
3 c. flour
1 egg
1 pkg. yeast

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening in 1/2 cup milk. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c. lukewarm water. Add sugar and salt to shortening and milk; stir until dissolved. Add remaining 1/4 milk and cool until lukewarm. Add yeast and beaten egg. Stir well. Work in flour and let rise to double bulk.

Knead on floured board until smooth. Roll out, cut and let rise until doubled. Bake at 425º for 8-10 minutes.

This can also be used in making loaf bread. Cook the loaves 30 minutes. Makes one large loaf.
