5 cups flour
2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 lb. tenderflake lard
2 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Put egg and vinegar in measure cup and fill with cold water to make 1 cup. Cut lard into dry ingredients until like pea texture. Add liquid to first mixture and stir until blended.
This makes enough pastry for at least 6-8 single crust pies. Form the portions of dough into balls and wrap with saran wrap and chill or freeze.

Alternate recipe: Add 3 tsp brown sugar and 1/2 tsp baking powder to dry ingredients. Cut liquid mixture back to 3/4 cup. Use 1 Tbsp of vinegar instead of 2.
