"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 bottle champagne
1 bottle Silver Satin Wine (or replace with golden or tawny port - about 1/2 bottle)
1 liter 7-up.

Frozen Fruit Ring

Directions:
Directions:
Make festive ice ring the day before by freezing fruit in a gelatin ring or some other form. Could include a little mint. Strawberries, pineapple or fruit cocktail work well.

Mix liquids and cool.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Silver Satin is a sweet white wine that is hard to find. I replace with a light colored port or sherry to taste and it works. I like this punch because its vaguely alcoholic and light. Mom used to make this for her many club parties.
