1 cup butter or other shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups sifted, all-purpose flour
1 ˝ tsp nutmeg
1 Tbsp cinnamon
˝ tsp salt
1 Tbsp soda
2 ˝ cups applesauce
2 Tbsp corn syrup
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts

Bake 300 degrees for 1 ˝ hours. This is better the next day. Does not need frosting, and keeps well.
