1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups cake or pastry flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoons sour milk or buttermilk
1 cup banana pulp
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening thoroughly; add sugar gradual, and cream the mixture until light and fluffy. Add beaten eggs and beat well.

Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda and add to the sugar mixture alternately with the combined sour milk, banana and vanilla. Beat after each addition until smooth, lastly add walnuts.

Pour into a greased and lightly floured loaf pan 8x8x2" bake in 350ºF oven for 50-60 minutes or until done.
