1 1/2 cup Flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Shortening
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 cup Butter or margarine
1 cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
1 cup Rolled Oats
1/4 cup Water
5 oz. Semi-sweet Chocolate Chunks or chips

Preheat oven to 350º. Spray cookie sheet with Pam©. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Cream together shortening and butter until smooth. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Continue creaming until light. Add rolled oats and water, blend thoroughly. Add sifted dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, one-third at a time, stir after each addition just until blended. Stir in chocolate morsels. Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until brown. Cool on wire rack.
