6-7 lbs chuck roast
1 1/2 gallons of broth
1/2 small bottle of Ketchup
1/2 can tomato puree (medium can)
1/4 onion quartered
1 pint white wine

Put spices in cloth and tie off:
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp of each allspice
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp pickle spice
1tsp cumin powder
1 tsp cumin seed

French Bread

Directions:
Directions:
Put roast in pan of water add cloth of spices and add onion cup up in pieces, 3 pieces of garlic cut up and cook 4-5 hours. Remove the cloth of spices and squeeze over roast juices and then discard cloth bag. Shred meat pieces and add meat with juice over the french bread.

This soup is big among the Portuguese people and it is a year soup made just at the beginning of fall.
