Ingredients: 500 g / 1 lb ground beef 40 g / 3 T potato flour 2-1/2 DL / 1/2 pt water 1-1/2 - 2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp ginger or allspice butter or margarine for frying 1 large onion, chopped and fried

Directions:1. Make a brown roux using 35 g butter (1 oz) and 3 T (1 oz) flour. Slowly add 1/2 L (ca. 1 pt) water or stock, stirring until smooth. Add fried onion and allow to simmer. 2. Mix meat and salt well until 'sticky'. 3. Add spices and potato flour and pour in 1/4 of the water. Mix well and continue adding water, 1/4 at a time, working until the mixture is smooth and manageable. 4. Shape into flat, round patties (about 3 cm thick) and fry in butter until brown. 5. Add patties to gravy and simmer 20-30 minutes. 6. Serve on a platter with boiled potatoes and vegetables. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. |
