Cake Bottom:
4 egg whites
150 g sugar
150 g almonds
1 tsp. baking powder

Topping:
1/2 L whipping cream
100 g sugar
4 egg yolks
2 Daim chocolate bars (use Skor)

Cake Bottom:
Beat egg whites and sugar until white. Combine baking powder and ground almonds and then carefully fold all ingredients together. Bake in a greased spring form pan at 180ºC for approximately 25 minutes.

Topping:
Beat whipping cream and sugar. Beat egg yolks separately. Break chocolate bars into small pieces. Combine all ingredients. When the cake bottom is cold, pour in the topping and freeze. Defrost slightly before serving.

This recipe was given to me by Målfrid Hodne Asserson, my mother-in-law. She may have served it to Ruby and Les (Målfrid's cousin on the Bru side) when they visited Norway in the early 80s.
