1 lb. Beef
1 lb. Pork
1 onion - finely chopped
1/4 c. celery
2 tblsp. cornstarch
1 c. mashed potato (2 potatoes cut up and cooked with a slice of onion).
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp cinnamon
3 tblsp. lard
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. evaporated milk
* Oatmeal for extra consistency if needed.

Directions:

Mix together beef, pork, onion, cornstarch, potato, salt, nutmeg & cinnamon. Form into small meatballs, roll meatballs in 1/2 c. flour and brown in 3 tblsp. of hot lard. remove to large kettle, add evaporated milk right before serving.

Gram and I spent hours perfecting this recipe - I think I made 400 meatballs that day while Gram did most of the taste testing!
