1/4 C. butter
2 Tbsp. oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 large tomatoes, finely chopped
1 10 3/4 oz. can chicken broth
1 tsp. dry basil
1/2 tsp. dry thyme
2 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
3 Tbsp. water
1/2 C. heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In hot butter and oil, sauté onion until transparent. Add tomatoes, broth, basil, thyme and sugar. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Purée the mixture and return to pan, discarding seeds and skin. Mix cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into soup. Heat to boiling and let boil 1 minute. Stir in cream and season to taste with salt and pepper.
