Cake ingredients:
3.5 cups of flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 teaspoons allspice
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 cup crisco
2 cups sugar
2 cups buttermilk
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups blackberry jam
1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting Ingredients:
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
One can of Carnation Evaporated Milk
One box of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and spices together. Set aside. Mis buttermilk and baking soda together, then mix buttermilk mixture with flour mixture alternately. Add jam and vanilla. Grease and flour 4 9" round cake pans. Pour mixture into pans and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Frosting Directions:
Brown sugar with butter. Remove from heat. Add can of carnation evaporated milk. Sift powdered sugar into mixture and add vanilla.

Alternate Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup milk
3 cups sugar
Boil above ingredients together.
