1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. water

3 sm. egg whites

3 c. sugar
3 c. corn syrup
4 t. vanilla
1/2 c. melted butter
1 t. salt
3 c. blanched, slivered, toasted almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat until dissolved. Continue to cook until right before soft ball stage (230º). Beat egg whites until they stand in peaks. When it gets to 238º remove from heat and add to egg whites, beating constantly until thick and luke warm. Place in buttered bowl and set aside.
Combine sugar and syrup in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook to soft crack (275º). Pour over mixture in buttered bowl. Mix with wooden spoon. Slowly add vanilla and melted butter. Mix well. Add salt and almonds. Place on parchment paper lined jelly roll pan. Flatten with buttered hands. Cool and cut into small rectangles. Wrap in waxed paper.
