1/2 c. butter
1 c. onion, chopped
4 c. chicken stock
2 t. sugar
1 t. dried majoram
1 bay leaf
1/4 t. ground pepper
salt and pepper to taste
1 carrot, chopped
1 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
6 lg. tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1 t. basil
1/4 t. paprika
1/2 t. curry powder
2 c. heavy cream

Directions:
Directions:
Saute celery, onions and carrots in butter for 3-5 minutes. Stir in flour. Pour in chicken stock and allow to thicken, stirring constantly. Add tomatoes and spices and simmer for 30 minutes. Add cream and heat just before serving. Can be prepared day ahead (add cream just before serving). Can be served hot or cold.
