3 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Dash salt
Filling: sherbet, fruit, or puddings
Whipped cream (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla. Turn mixer to high and add sugar. Beat until stiff. Place brown paper on cookie sheet. Place mound of meringue on paper and make hole in center. Bake at 300ºF for 30 minutes. Turn oven off and let dry out for 1 hour. Spoon in filling of choice. Top with dollop of whipped cream.
