2 lbs of ground chuck
2 cups of chopped onion
2 cups of chopped celery
2 cups of chopped green peppers
1 large can of Hunts Tomato Sauce
1 large can of Tomato Paste (vs the small can)
1 large can of tomatoes
1 Family Size Bottle of Heinz Ketchup
water

EXTRA INGREDIENTS (if you want)
1 clove of garlic
chopped fresh mushrooms
Italian Seasoning
Chopped Parsley
Chopped Oregano
Red Pepper
Bay Leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Saute the chopped vegetables and garlic (if you include the garlic). Set them aside. Brown the ground chuck and drain fat if necessary. Combine the meat and sautéed vegetables along with the other canned ingredients. Once you have included the entire bottle of ketchup, fill 1/4 of the bottle with water and add to the ingredients. Allow the mixture to simmer for an hour to an hour and a half.

This recipe was given to Mom by Margaret Stephenson when she got married. It is excellent sauce. Peter keeps claiming he is going to bottle it and sell it. It is very easy to freeze. Also, I bet you could put it all in the crock pot and cook on low.
