2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon sugar (or substitute agave nectar)
1/3 cup non-fat powdered milk
6 tablespoons butter, softened (or 3 tbsp butter + 3 tbsp peanut butter)
1 large egg
Water (or any flavored broth)

Directions:
Directions:
1) Mix ingredients together with enough water, about 1/2 cup, until a stiff dough forms.
2) On a floured work surface, knead dough for about 3 minutes. Form dough into a ball and roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into dog bones or other desired shapes (or cut with pizza cutter if you're in a hurry). Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
3) Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

Yield will vary depending on the size of the cookie cutter used. Also, if you add in peanut butter, the dough might be slightly more sticky than the butter-only version, so adding light amounts of flour until the dough is less sticky may be advisable.
