3 cups sugar
4 Tbsp cocoa
2 Tbsp corn syrup
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cocoa, sugar, salt, then add milk and butter. Boil slowly for15 minutes to 236º F or soft ball stage; stir enough to prevent burning; remove from heat; add vanilla and syrup; let cool slightly, then beat until fudge loses its gloss. Pour into buttered 8x8 pan and let set a little before cutting into squares.

This recipe take approximatelly 1/2 hour to prepare and is ready to eat right off the spoon. :)

This is Grandma (Madge) Bowes' recipe which was always a favourite with the kids at school when we had a popcorn and candy sale. When deciding who would bring what, the other kids would always say, "Boweses can bring fudge!" You can't quite duplicate the flavour unless you use a cast iron frying pan.
